I went to all my antinatal classes and i found them very helpfull, most people say that they are useless and embarrasing but i dont agree. I didnt go on my own my husband came with me but some mums to be did go alone as there partners couldnt make it. All we did was generally chatted, the only part where my husband had to get involved was when the men were shown the best places to massage you when you are in labour!

It is not a problem that your partner can't go. Have you got a friend or your mum who could go with you? Don't worry if you have not.
I am sure that the midwife will do your massage for you and be your partner for the session.
I think it sometimes embarrassing walking into the room but I am sure you will make friends. Usually you tend to find that the mums are very sociable and try to involve you as much as poss.
Good luck

Hi Dee...how was your active birth class?

I only attended a one day class and it was a joke. Hubby and I were like a couple of kids in health class laughing and disrupting class! I think a series of classes like you are doing would be more informative.

Keep us posted how it is going!
