PostSubject: Hospital mistakes and request for help please   Fri Jul 13, 2007 2:00 am

Hello all

I've just had a letter from the hospital admitting that they made terrible mistakes in my care when we lost Baby Mumble. The information that they sent us home with after the scan was from a junior doctor's notes - which was why it didn't help us - it was just a medical explanation of the process of miscarriage.

There are other errors - too many to mention here, but one positive thing is that they have fitted a lock to the examination room door, after the cleaner walked in as I was about to have my internal scan.

The other key thing is that they have asked me if I will consult with them on revising all information given to women experiencing miscarriage - so I guess that's good.

When I get to know the detail of what I can help with I'd appreciate anyone else's suggestions as to the kind of things you'd like to read at such a distressing time.

Take care everyone.

xx

Hi Hun,

As if you arent going through a tough enough time as it is, you have to deal with the hospitals incompetence too. I think its digusting, truely. To not have a lock on an Examination room door is outrageous. Things like that should be expected and normal.
I hope that they take in everything that you suggest to ensure the best care for the future.

I will ask my mum about her experience and see if she has anything to add.

All the best xxx
