PostSubject: Kais turn   Tue Jan 29, 2008 1:52 pm

Hello ladies.

Well as you know or if you remember,Courtney last January had a fit caused by ear infection and was taken to Hospital by Ambulance.
Kai has decided to follow in his sisters footsteps at 3.30pm today and also wanted a ride in an ambulance due to also having a fit caused by high temperature.

I don't know what it was..call it intuition..5 minutes before the seizer,I thought to myself..I got a feeling your going to have a fit...and true to form off he went.
Of course panick set in and I turn him on his side..phone an ambulance and his dad.
What felt like hours but was only 3 minutes,he stops fitting and the ambulance arrives at the same time as my hubby.

Off we went again to the hospital.....
At present,as I am typing this..I am due back at the hospital in 2 hours to take over again from Andy as he took over from me at 7pm,so I could come home, have something to eat and gather some bits together as kai has to stay overnight. They asked me to place cotton wool balls in his nappy to gather urine sample and just before leaving at 7pm to come home, I was told they have found what looks like traces of poo in his urine. Of course I am very worried at this time. They have put more cotton wool balls in his nappy because they want to double check. So I am going back at 10/11pm to take over from Andy and find out the results.

Wish me luck.

Hi all
Thankyou so much for your wishes.

Well after 20 hours in Hospital...we are non the wiser to what the problem is.I am disgusted that all they did was what we could have done ourselves at home. Check his temp every so often and give him calpol when his temp went back up.

No tests, nothing. The urine sample I told you about,I heard nothing of that and when comfronting the doctor about it.She said "well they didn't mention it too me,so can't be anything serious".She didn't even know the nurses did one. I think it was just a ploy to get me to stay for 24 hours.
I am disgusted that they would use that and worry me half to death.

Anyway,we are now home as we more or less discharged him ourselves. They were not doing anything..but obviously gave us the all clear before we left.

He is still quite hot at times. He is just wearing a nappy.I am restless until this fever goes away. But don't know what is causing it.Could be his final lot of teeth. But I am worried about him having another attack.

As you say Tina, it may be his last lot of teeth coming through, but you can never be sure, but that doesnt mean the hospital should just fob you off. And as for not knowing about him having a test done...thats just stupid. Either they arent reading the notes or the other doctors arent updating them! Outrageous!

Hope the little one is feeling better today :)
