PostSubject: Weaning   Wed Apr 04, 2007 10:45 am

Hi all, just after a bit of advise.

My little boy Ben will be 16 weeks tomorrow and i'm not sure if I should be starting to introduce food. My HV is dead set against it saying I should wait till he is 6 months, but i'm not sure is formula is enough a nfor him anymore.

From about 12 weeks he was feeding every 3 - 4 hours 6oz and sleeping through the night.
In the last week or so he has gone up to 8oz every 21/2 - 3 hours and has started waking again once or twice during the night for a feed.

When did you start weaning and should i do what i think is right or listen to the professional (hv)?

I have always said a mothers instinct is solemn wrong.
I started feeding Kai at 4 months.I have also found the later its left the longer they take too get used too new foods and the harder it is.

Kai is now on a breakfast aswell as babyrice at 5pm.He is 6 months.Had to move him onto the 6 month milk too.You do what you feel is best for your child. If Ben doesnt like it,dont worry all babies spit up and urge first go off.Just persevere.

I think we started Kerrie at about 5 months..she wasn't interested at first so waited a couple of weeks and tried again...they'll soon tell you if it's what they want :)

I started Aiden at 4 months. I never looked back, filled him up and he was a very happy baby because of it. I would just try ben with it, see how it goes hun.

Good Luck!
