PostSubject: The Floods   Tue Jun 26, 2007 11:22 am

I would just like to post this thread to let our friends & families living in the flood areas know that we are thinking of them and hope they have not been too badly affected.
And that there is always someone to chat too here in cornwall.
Keep safe and hope things r back to normal for you very very soon
Take care
Hug Darkey & family x x x

Ah that's really sweet....

I don't live in the uk but i have seen the pictures and they are just like here in switzerland, we got flooded really bad last week.

I took my son to nursery in the morning and when i went to pick him up in the evening i couldn't get to the nursery no more as all the bridges where closed as the rivers had burst.....it took me 45 mins to get to nursery to get him, i was so pleased i got there in the end.....xxx

Praying for all of you...xx

I have read today that some of the homes that have been flooded and evacuated have been looted!!!!!

That makes me feel sick...these people that have had to suffer with the tragedy of their homes being flooded and destroyed to then have to deal with some selfish uncaring (grrrrrrrr can't say the word) stealing from them...makes me soooooooo mad!!!!!!

I have a powerful land rover for towing so i called the emergency services and local council to offer my services ( i do a lot of recovery for the car owners club i co run ), because i can drive threw up to 2 foot of water and already have experience and equipment to help i thought it would be a good idea. Very Happy

They all said they would call back but none did ( so much for giving back to the community ) i wont waist my time again. sad

That was a really nice thing to do, shame they didn't take you up on the offer....next time they will probably phone you for help but i would give the same reply as them i will call back and never do.....(saying that though i would help as it's not the ES or LC what need you it's the people)

I live in one of the affected areas and have to say it was pretty horrific. Luckily, as we live in a flat above ground level, We weren't affected too badly, however, our friends who are both a year younger than myself had just bought their first house and have lost everything as it was a bungalow. They have been put up in a hotel but have been told it could be up to eighteen months before they will be able to move back in as they are having to have all their floors, plaster, kitchen, bathroom etc replaced.
